pomeranian house training help?

im having some trouble on house training my pomp we just got her yesterday she woke me up at 6 am this moring to ate her food then she went to the bathroom in the house around 9am and we feed her lunch at 1:00 and then she went to the bathroom outside i finely got her that was around 3:30 and now she ate dinner at 5:00pm and i was just about to take her out to the bathroom and before i got my jacket she went on da floor at 8:00pm any advice now before i go to bed what time afta 8:00pm, she i take her out before i go to bed so we dont have any poop in the moring.

More frequent breaks to understand and get a feel for her bathroom schedule. Dont worry it takes patience the more times she goes outside she will understand where she has to do her business and will learn to hold it if necessary. You just got her dont expect her to do everything perfect ;have fun with your new dog!

Crate training a small pomeranian?

I would like to crate train my pomeranian puppy (10 weeks old). I have been advised by my vet and the breeder that because they expend energy so fast they always need access to their food. He whines, cries, and jumps around so much in his crate to get out that I’m sure he is expending a ton of energy, so I keep his food in his crate. This makes his need to potty very unpredictable, so I’m not sure when I need to wake up in the night to give him a potty break because most of the time he’s already gone in the crate. Any tips on this would be great!
My pom is about 1.5lbs. He is not just like any other small puppy.He can get low blood sugar and get very sick if he expends too much energy without eating. This is the vet and breeder talking not me. It’s just hard to judge how much energy he is using when freaking out in the crate. So I worry and put food in there.

Housetraining is one the most important training efforts you’ll ever make, but it does not have to be difficult.

First is to establish a routine. The first thing every morning and the last thing every night, take your puppy outside. Feed him at the same time every day and take him outside as soon after a meal as possible, usually within fifteen minutes. During housetraining when you’re with your puppy, take him out every hour. While fresh drinking water should be available at all times, you may want to time a very young puppy’s drinks to just prior to his scheduled hourly potty breaks.

Second, until he is trained keep a constant eye on your puppy. During housetraining, the only time your puppy should have the run of the house is when you are there to watch him.

Third, is to crate-train your puppy. Puppies instinctively want to keep their sleeping space clean. Make the crate a happy place for your puppy. Encourage him to go into the crate by tossing a toy or kibble of food inside while commanding "crate". Once inside, praise him and close the door. After a moment, let your puppy back out of the crate. Repeat the exercise, gradually extending his time inside.

Use the crate as a bed and as a safe place for your puppy whenever you are gone or cannot watch him. Try not to make a big deal out of opening the door to let him out, you want your puppy to know that praise follows the command to go inside the crate. When taking your puppy out of his crate during the first few weeks of the housetraining period, put a leash on him and walk to his designated potty place as quickly as possible. This will lessen the chance of an accident.

As a general rule, your puppy can safely be left in his crate the number of hours that equal his age in months plus one.

Fourth is designate a potty area. Let your puppy know where he should go potty by taking him to a designated potty place. Do this by consistently taking him to the same spot and commanding "Go potty". When he does have an accident, wipe it up and put the rag of paper towel at the designated potty place. The scent will help clue him in to your command. When he does potty in the proper place, reward your puppy with lavish praise and lots of petting. Only after he has eliminated should your puppy be allowed to play outside. He has to learn that it’s business first.

Fifth is to correct your puppy’s mistakes only when you catch him in the act. With a firm "NO!" pick up your puppy and take him to the designated potty area. A puppy is a baby and you must expect some accidents. It’s not his fault. Be patient. Clean up the area with an odor neutralizer to prevent further soiling in that place.

Should your puppy continue to have problems with urinating, we would recommend that you continue to work with your veterinarian.

1 1/2 year old Male Neutered Pomeranian potty training problem?

My pomeranian does go outside on command. I let him out several times a day and he is fine. However, he cannot be trusted indoors. Today, I had him on a leash and he pottied right in front of me. I told him NO and put him outside and said potty outside. He has in the past, barked to go out and I let him out. However, he is not consistent. He did not bark at all today. I also have 3 cats (2 female & 1 male). They are very good about doing their business in the litter box. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with marking his territory — but how can I make him stop? I also have a diaper for him but it makes him depressed when I put it on him. I thought if you have him on a leash with you, he wouldn’t go, but that’s not the case with him. And it’s not like he doesn’t go out every couple of hours. Please help!! I’m sick of climbing over all the gates in my house.
All cats are spayed and neutered as is the dog.

I really don’t know. If you’ve ever used puppy pee pads, this could be the source of the problem. Try putting him in his crate every time this happens. You could also try giving him a treat almost every time he potties outdoors. You saying no may just not be enough to get across to him.
